Background: Myxoedema coma although uncommon can be life-threatening in patients who are poorly compliant with levothyroxine replacement. Some of the precipitating factors include intercurrent respiratory infection, use of sedatives, and electrolyte imbalance such as hyponatremia(Wiersinga 2018).
